Peace, Peace

Let us not, O Lord,

be counted too often

among those who cry

"Peace, peace!"

 where there is no peace.

    Instead, we pray,

    to find ourselves

    along the holy way

    where, by grace, not grit,

        we manage to live

        and breathe peace

        into places desperate

        for its sacred gift.
