Know that our prayers
are with you and your family
as the grief
of your loved one’s passing
weighs heavy on you
like a smothering blanket.
We pray that God’s grace enfold
you
with a tender embrace;
that you feel God’s presence
in the tears, voices, shoulders,
and care of friends and family
from far and near;
so your walk through the valley
of the shadow of death
will allow you to see and be led
to the light of hope that shines
from the mountain of God’s love.
