Mammon wasn't a random
temptation
Jesus plucked from the sky.
It's one of the most powerful
seductions known in human
history.
The accumulation of material
wealth
has a way of erasing all memory
of its source, convincing us
it belongs to us and us alone,
and always has.
In every circumstance for which
we are sure we know
the true answer and path,
we'd do well to examine whether
our economic interest is clouding
our perception of reality.
It's a truth that
just might set us free.
