When I Call You Angel

When I call you Angel
it is not because I want
you to be perfect or good.

When I call you Angel
it is not to claim you’re not
who you think you are.

When I call you Angel
it is not a way to force you
to become someone else.

When I call you Angel
it is because I see in you
hope for the world to come.

When I call you Angel
I’m laying claim to the gift
your birth unfolded in me.

When I call you Angel
it’s because I often feel
wings flutter as you walk by.

When I call you Angel
I know you’ll one day discover
your own unique gift.

When I call you Angel
I feel your heart sometimes
as you watch over me.

When I call you Angel
it’s because no other name
can escape my lips.

When I call you Angel
it’s to remind you to keep searching
for your proclaiming voice.

  1. God knows the pain of releasing a child. Holly will adapt to her new family with the ease and calm she has shown in adapting to her new vision. The children in her care will become her helpers as she becomes their teacher and caregiver. Young children can be very compassionate. Holly will be o-k. May God continue to hold all of you in His/Her hands.
